Man who cut off electronic monitoring device pleads guilty to registration charge

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man located in Minneapolis over the summer pleaded guilty failure to comply with predatory registration requirements.
Carvell Williams cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet and left Damascus Way, where he had been committed, on June 30, 2024.
He was located nearly a month later and arrested.
Williams pleaded guilty to the charge of failure to comply with registration requirements, in exchange for the dismissal of a count of escape from custody–Minnesota Sex Offender Program or Court Hold Order.
His sentencing is scheduled for March 3, 2025.

(ABC 6 News) – Predatory offender Carvell Williams was located and arrested in Minneapolis Wednesday night, according to Rochester police.
RPD had requested the public’s aid in locating Williams after he allegedly tampered with his electronic monitoring device.

(ABC 6 News) — Rochester Police Department (RPD) is asking for the public’s help in finding a predatory offender last seen in Rochester.
A state agent has alerted RPD that 41-year-old Carvell Williams tampered with his electronic monitoring device on Sunday, June 30 and has failed to return to his placement location.
Williams was last seen around 2nd St. SE/Broadway Ave. S wearing a dark-colored shirt and pants. He is 5’6”, 210 pounds, bald and wearing glasses. If you know of Williams’ location or have information that may lead to his apprehension, please contact RPD at (507) 328-6800.
