UPDATE: Two cats died in Oronoco shed fire

Update Wednesday, Nov. 3:
During a media briefing on Wednesday morning, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office said two cats died in the fire. There were also two pickup trucks inside, a John Deere tractor, many tools, and other things. The man who lives there said he left for work around 5:00 a.m. and notice anything that would have indicated a fire or potential fire that morning. His wife and son left a short time later and didn’t notice anything either.
Peope on scene reported hearing popping noises coming from the fire. Officials said there were chemicals/paint in the shed that may have contributed to that noise.
Tuesday, Nov. 2nd:
(ABC 6 News) – No people were injured in a shed fire on Tuesday, November 2nd, but two cats died and there was about $800,000 in damages.
The fire happened in the 8500 Block of 11th Avenue NW. in Oronoco Township around 12:00 p.m.
Oronoco Fire, Pine Island Fire, Rochester Fire, Olmsted County Sheriff, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance all responded.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office said the fire was in a shed and did not spread to the nearby home.
The Pine Island Fire Department said a portion of the shed roof collapsed shortly after fire crews arrived. The damage from the fire is estimated to be around $800,000.
The fire marshal is investigating.
