(ABC 6 News) – UPDATE: A woman is hurt after a crash in Rochester that happened late Thursday morning, according to Minnesota State Patrol (MSP).

MSP says 44-year-old Heidi Bredeson from Rochester was driving southbound on Highway 52 when the car went off the road into a ditch, striking a light pole.

Bredeson’s car then went into the road again and crashed into the median wall.

One member of our ABC 6 News team was close by and describes what he saw.

“I ran over there and jumped the fence to go see if the individual was fine. Another vehicle had pulled up right before I got there. That gentleman pulled the women out of the back window of the vehicle. She said she was okay but she looked pretty bruised and banged up,” said Javier Gil of ABC 6 News.

She was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester where she is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

MSP says Bredeson was wearing a seatbelt, but it is not known at this time if there was alcohol in her system or not.

Traffic is reduced to one lane on southbound Highway 52 in Rochester, after a single car hit a lightpole and sign near the 16th Street exit.

According to a witness at the scene, a man pulled the driver out of the smoking white vehicle shortly before multiple first responder vehicles arrived.

The responder vehicles have blocked multiple lanes of traffic, leaving drivers to continue in the exit lane.

One MN DOT official said the clean up process takes awhile and it all depends on the severity of the incident.

“If this was the only light, they might be out here sooner. Signs that get hit, what kind of sign was it, can you put up a temporary one,” said MN Dot spokesman Mike Dougherty.
