West Concord City Council member resigns
(ABC 6 News) — On Tuesday, a member of the West Concord City Council announced that she would be stepping down from her role.
In a Facebook group for West Concord residents, Christina Wetzstein Peterson posted that she would be resigning from her position on the council effective August 27th.
Peterson wrote in part, “It has been an honor to serve on the council and represent our community since Jan of 2023.”
City administrator and clerk Paula Even Trenda released the following statement on behalf of the City of West Concord:
“The council and city wish Christina the best on all her future endeavors and thank her for her service to the community. Her reasons for resignation from the council are personal to her and only she can address why. West Concord has a good council that continues to serve the community and do what is best for all residents. We welcome feedback from everyone in our small but vibrant community.
As for filling her vacancy, the state secretary of state has guidelines and we are working with them, as well as the city attorney, on the exact steps to be taken. Information will be forthcoming once we receive the guidance needed.”
