Mason City to flush water mains in SE part of city beginning Sept. 26

(ABC 6 New) – The City of Mason City Water Supply Division announced they will beginning flushing water mains in the southeast quadrant of town beginning Monday, September 26.
The affected areas will be east of Federal Ave. and south of Highway 122.
The water main flushing is expected to last through Monday, October 10.
This will be similar to the recent flushing in the northeast quadrant of town.

The city says water customers may notice some discoloration of the water after the mains have been flushed, however the water is safe to drink.
Caution should be used when washing clothing because discolored water may cause staining.
The public is asked not to park near or across from fire hydrants during this period.
