Sen. Klobuchar holds roundtable to discuss access to nursing careers, workforce shortage

(ABC 6 News) – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar held a roundtable discussion Friday to highlight the need to expand and strengthen the pipeline to nursing careers.

"Throughout the pandemic, Klobuchar has been a leading advocate for health care workers." The roundtable comes as Minnesota and many other states continue to experience staffing shortages at hospitals and other healthcare providers.

During the roundtable, Sen. Klobuchar said "if we want our health care system to be ready not just now but for the years ahead we have to invest in our nursing workforce. My colleagues and I, as we speak, are debating and working on legislation to get more Americans to join this essential field and help those that are in it."
