Rochester man accused in child pornography case faces new bestiality, sexual communication with child charges

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man previously accused of possessing and sharing child pornography faces a new bestiality charge and a charge of sexting a child in new court documents.

Emanuel Ernesto Zavala, 33, was arrested in early October on one count of possession of child pornography–minor under 14 and one count of disseminating child pornography–minor under 14.

As of Oct. 23, Zavala also faces a felony charge of engaging in electronic communication involving sexual conduct with a child, as well as misdemeanor bestiality–carnally know animal.

According to an amended criminal complaint, after Zavala’s arrest, law enforcement searched his phone, where police allegedly found 61 images and videos of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), or child pornography, as well as 15 images and videos of Zavala engaging in sex acts with a dog.

Court documents also allege that law enforcement found chats where Zavala discussed previous sexual contact with a 10-year-old, as well as a chat with an individual claiming to be 15 years old, where Zavala allegedly asked the juvenile to send explicit photos.

Zavala’s bail remained the same as in early October — $50,000 bail with no conditions, or $5,000 bail with conditions, including no contact with juveniles and no use of the internet.

His settlement hearing is scheduled for Jan. 16.
