Investigation underway after dock gangway collapse in Georgia killed 7 people

(ABC 6 News) — An investigation is underway after a dock gangway collapsed, killing seven people and injuring several others on Sapelo Island in Georgia.

A preliminary investigation pointed to a “catastrophic failure” of the gangway built only three years ago.

The incident happened as hundreds visited the small island community to celebrate descendants of African slaves.
