Far more pleasant today, sunshine returns

Today by far and away is going to be more pleasant than yesterday, with less wind, warmer afternoon temperatures, and no rain!

For early November standards, today is going to be a beautiful day across southeastern Minnesota and northern Iowa! High pressure is currently centered across central Iowa, and will maintain control of our weather through the day Friday.

High temperatures will be slightly lower than they were yesterday morning, but the big difference is that temperatures will be warming up through out the day today, unlike Thursday. High temperatures will be in the upper 40F’s to lower 50F’s across the area, with light southerly winds around 5 mph.

Patchy fog is currently around the area this morning in locations such as Austin and Albert Lea, but will burn off as the morning goes on. No dense fog advisories are in effect, just something to keep in mind for your morning commute.

An area of low pressure currently tracking across South Dakota will track across central Minnesota and northern Minnesota through the day today. No precipitation is expected across the area, but you’ll notice some high level clouds tracking overhead at times today.

Overall, not a bad day compared to yesterday, with even warmer temperatures in store for the weekend!
