U.S. Bank Stadium may host a big Sunday night NFL game this weekend but it won’t feature the Vikings, according to Twin Cities affiliate KSTP.
With the Vikings playing the Saints in London Sunday morning, ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reports that U.S. Bank Stadium has been chosen to host the Chiefs vs. Buccaneers game if it needs to be moved out of Tampa Bay due to Hurricane Ian.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the NFL hadn’t decided to move the game out of Tampa, yet.
Seifert says NFL Executive Vice President Jeff Miller didn’t offer any timeline for when the league may make a decision but said the league “will remain nimble and adaptable.”
The Buccaneers have already relocated players, coaches and some families to the South Florida area and are practicing at the Dolphins facility, Seifert says.
Twin Cities affiliate KSTP reached out to U.S. Bank Stadium about reports that it has asked for potential volunteers to work the game, in the event it is moved. However, we’ve yet to receive a response.
