Rochesterfest announces General Chairperson and theme for 2025
(ABC 6 News) — Rochesterfest has announced its new General Chairperson as well as a new theme for 2025 following a meeting with Mayor Kim Norton on Monday.
The General Chairperson is Sylwia Oliver, who is the executive director of 125 Live in Rochester and serves on the Board of Directors for both the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and KSMQ Public Media.
The theme for this year is “Ignite Your Spark.”
Oliver says she chose the theme to encourage people to engage with the community more and recognize the new faces in charge of this year’s celebration.
“We have the new executive director, which is Randy Stocker, and we have the influx of the new board members to Rochesterfest, and I’m just hoping that all those new ideas will bring a new spark to Rochesterfest,” Oliver said.
A number of new elements will also be appearing in this years festival, including themed days dedicated to senior, veterans and first responders, and non-profits.
The annual button design competition will be seeing some changes as well in the submission and selection process, though those details are set to come out at a later date.
This year’s Rochesterfest will take place from June 21-29.
