MnDOT to hold roundabout info meeting
(ABC 6 News) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is inviting the public to attend an informational meeting on the planned Highways 63/247 roundabout. The construction location is 7 miles north of Rochester and 12 miles west of Plainview.
The in-person meeting will be held on January 23 at the Farmington Township Hall from 4 to 6 p.m. The Hall is east of the intersection and west of Potsdam, 11534 County 128 Rd NE, Elgin, MN. Visitors can provide feedback, learn more about the project and review traffic routing planned for construction in 2027.
People unable to attend the meeting will be able to review the information on the MnDOT project website, where you can also sign up for project email updates.
According to MnDOT, a single-lane roundabout would improve safety by addressing the existing and growing trend of right-angle crashes at the intersection. Seventy-two percent crashes there are right-angle crashes.
