18-year-old charged in connection to Austin man’s death
(ABC 6 News) – An 18-year-old Austin man is now the second person to be charged in connection to the death of a 75-year-old man in October, 2021.
Nickalos Taylor is charged with one count of aiding and abetting 2nd degree murder while committing a felony without intent, one felony count of aiding and abetting aggravated robbery and inflicting bodily harm, and one felony count of aiding and abetting 1st degree assault with great bodily harm.
William Hall was found dead in his Austin home on October 13, 2021. Law enforcement said they believed Hall was surprised by a group of young men who had come to his house with the intent to steal from him. During the encounter, police say, Hall was pushed down and hit in the face.
Taylor, who was a juvenile at the time of the robbery, was booked into the Mower County Jail this week and made his first appearance in court Wednesday.
His next court appearance is scheduled for February 7.
18-year-old Francisco Silva was also charged in connection to Hall’s death and has plead not guilty, his jury trial is scheduled for May 9.
Police said a third juvenile suspect was also taken into custody during the investigation.
