Rochester man arrested after refusing to leave Albert Lea High School

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (ABC 6 News) – According to an alert on the Albert Lea Area Schools website, a man was arrested after refusing to leave Albert Lea High School.

According to a spokesperson for Albert Lea Area Schools, the man went into the high school at 8:36 a.m. Following school protocols, classrooms were placed on lockdown for seven minutes.

Police were called and arrived at the school at 8:40 and the man was taken into custody. The Albert Lea Police Department said the man is a 26-year-old from Rochester. He was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

No one was hurt during the incident.
