Deputies honored as part of fall awards ceremony

(ABC 6 News) – The Olmsted County Sheriff’s office held its fall awards ceremony Thursday evening to recognize deputies for their service.
It was a packed house at the Woodlake meeting center where numerous officers and their families gathered here to share this special moment.
More than 40 awards were given out from certificates of appointment for new hires, medals of commendation, medals of valor, life-saving awards, and letters of recognition.
Deputy Jordan Anderson was one of four officers awarded the medal of valor which honors the bravery of an officer when facing a life-threatening situation.
“That night in Pine Island was very difficult, it was a long day for all of us, ERU members involved which was a combination of Rochester Police department, Olmsted County sheriff’s office, so just that we all came home alive that night was a huge win for all of us,” Deputy Jordan Anderson said.

The sheriff’s office award ceremony takes place twice every year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
