Police: Man, woman robbed after parking in driveway in SE Rochester
(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Police Department said two people were robbed after they pulled into a driveway in southeast Rochester Saturday night.
Police said a 49-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman pulled into a driveway on the 1500 block of 19th Ave SE around 10 p.m.
The man told police after they parked someone walked up to the driver’s side of the car and started pounding on it to get their attention. Another person went to the passenger side.
The person on the driver’s side told the man to get out of the car and hand over his wallet and a gold necklace he had been wearing. The man was reportedly holding either a bar or bat and hit the victim in the head and torso. He was not taken to the hospital or seriously hurt.
The woman told officers she thought the man on the passenger side had held a gun to her head and told her to give him money.
After taking the belongings the two men ran away and the police were called.
Officers checked the area but no one was located. The case will be assigned to an investigator.
