Local heroes compete in annual rib eating contest

(ABC 6 News)- It was a local hero showdown at the Texas Roadhouse in Rochester Friday afternoon.
The restaurant hosted it’s annual local first responders rib-eating challenge.
Each year, the Texas Roadhouse restaurant hosts the challenge to help raise funds for charities selected by the winning team.
Members of the Rochester police department and Olmsted county sheriff’s department partnered together to challenge the Mayo Clinic Ambulance services.
“For the police and the sheriff’s office, we have the Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation, that’s a huge cause that we love. We love supporting them all the time and it allows us to give back to the community,” said Officer Joe Mueller.
The Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation is an organization that provides aid to those who have lost relatives that have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Throughout the day, ten percent of all lunch sales will benefit the participants’ chosen charities, which was the Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation as the Rochester Police Department patrol unit took first place
