Austin man injured in two-vehicle crash Monday morning
(ABC 6 News) – An Austin man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 218 early Monday morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident happened around 6:14 a.m., when a 1997 Mazda 626 driven by John Lavelle, 77, of Austin and a 2001 Ford F-250 driven by Charles Branchaud, 31, of Austin, were both traveling northbound on Highway 218 when they collided near County Rd. 4.
Branchaud was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin with non-life threatening injuries. Lavelle was not injured. Both men were wearing seatbelts.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Fire, and Mayo Ambulance.
