1 killed, multiple crashes reported in Freeborn County

(ABC 6 News) – Multiple crashes were reported on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County Monday evening, including one fatal.

62-year-old Bradley Oachs, of Plymouth, MN, was killed in a crash involving two semis near milepost 15 just before 6 p.m.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Oachs was driving a Kenworth semi headed south on I-35, while a Freightliner driven by Korane Mohamud, 34 of Minneapolis, was also heading south. The Freightliner jackknifed and the Oachs collided with the trailer.

Mohamud and his passenger, 37-year-old Mahamed I Mahamoud, of Lexington, NE, were both uninjured.

A few hours later, just before 10 p.m., Paw Ku, 35 of Austin, was hurt after losing control of her vehicle on Interstate 35 near milepost 19 and rolled into the ditch. Ku suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

According to the reports, Interstate 35 was covered in snow and ice at the time of the crashes.
