(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Motor Cars participated in its 15th Polar Plunge this year with its largest group of jumpers.

The Polar Plunge is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics. In Minnesota this year, it raised over $2 million for 81 athletes.

Team Rochester Motor Cars participated with fifty jumpers, the largest in its 15 years of jumping. The team also raised its largest amount of money coming up just shy of $70,000.

“The first year we jumped, it was just me and a co-worker. Little did I know at that time my wife was pregnant with our soon-to-be son, Lincoln, who was born with Down Syndrome. At that point, the whole jumping in a freezing lake for fun thing actually had meaning for me,” Brandon Buckingham, Sales Manager at Rochester Toyota.
