(ABC 6 News) – It’s going to be more of a wait before we get results from the 2020 Census.
The data was supposed to come out in May, but the Census Bureau said it needs more time to get all the information compiled from the numbers. Those numbers are important for a number of reasons like securing federal funding and determining the number of seats the state gets in the U.S. House.
Those with Olmsted County said they will continue business using the most recent data available to them.
"The last couple of releases have been more on time but these next ones are a lot more detailed and then the Census Bureau wants to get it right," said Ben Griffith, Director of the Olmsted County Planning Department.
"You are very contingent of that and very quality control and oriented so they are the standard."
The U.S. Census Bureau expects to release the data in August 2023.
