43 North Iowa Announces 2022 Dancing for the Dream Competitors

Mason City, IA — January 20,2022 — 43 North Iowa announced its Dancing for the Dream event will be March 26, from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Surf Ballroom. “The success of this event is due to our local ‘stars’ coming forward to perform,” said Executive Director John Derryberry. “And the 2022 line-up is going to be spectacular. We survived a few Covid changes these past 2 years and plan on another successful and fun event.”

The Dancers met last week and are putting together their dance performances and seeking votes to win the coveted Crystal Ball Trophy on Saturday, March 26 from 6 – 9 pm at the Surf Ballroom. There are seven performances and they each want to win your votes in order to help us reach our goal of $55,000. Proceeds from the event support the home, employment, and community experiences of people with disabilities in north Iowa.

Dancing for the Dream is our signature fund-raising event. Proceeds stay in north Iowa providing support services to people with disabilities. Local volunteers work together to create a fun night of music and dance. We will start the event with an amazing dream
performance to set the stage. Local dance coaches help make it happen, Michelle Barlas, Mary Drew, Kelby Schultz, and Tina Wihlm.

Silent and live auctions will be held throughout the night. Live Auction items include a 7 -10 day stay in Florida by Marty and Carol Ramaekers, 5 nights in Maine by Tim & Rhonda Clark, McCloskey Appliance Certificate, Charcuterie Party by Boards & Bars -Jenn Arndt, Gourmet dinners for 8 including a murder mystery by Gina Lovejoy & Larry Kalousek and Jana and Bruce Wuttke, and more. You can also bid on local art, activities, sports items, pottery, jewelry, and more.

Tickets will soon be available at the Becker Center, 1225 S Harrison, MC; JobLink, 315 N Delaware, MC; and 43 North Iowa administrative offices, 111 2nd NE. For the first time in over 10 years, the ticket price has changed to $60.00 each which includes a chance to play Deal or No Deal (one person gets to try to win up to $1000.00).
