(ABC 6 News) – In Rochester on Sunday, Aleta Borrud kicked off her Minnesota Senate Campaign.
She ran against Republican incumbent Carla Nelson in 2020. She lost by less than one percent.
Borrud is a retired Mayo Clinic doctor. She said she wanted to start her campaign early because she wants to hear from people and let them know they have a role in politics.
"I really believe that this medical community deserves a senator representing them who actually believes in science, who’s willing to tell the truth about COVID, about climate change and I know that even as we’re making economic recovery, too many of our families have been left behind," Borrud said.
The event was held at Soldiers Field Park. The next Minnesota Midterm election is in 2022.
