Austin getting new fire truck, bike trail, and road improvements
(ABC 6 NEWS) – The city of Austin will soon see new changes after Monday night’s city council meeting.
Austin Councilman Jason Baskin shared updates from the meeting on Facebook.
The council approved the purchase of a new fire truck. The city will not receive the new truck until 2024, but it will save taxpayers $350,000 by approving the contract now, according to Baskin.
The council also approved a limited use permit agreement to add a new bike trail in Southwest Austin.
The city will also reconstruct 1st Ave. NW from Oakland Ave. W to 1st Dr. NW in the summer of 2023.
