Austin man receives 4 years probation after fleeing police

(ABC 6 News) – An Austin man received a lighter sentence than average after pleading guilty to fleeing police.

Johnny Eugene Davis, 58, was charged with the felony while fleeing police on March 19, 2021. He was wanted on a felony warrant, issued for a charge of having been a violent felon in possession of a firearm.

Davis pleaded guilty to the offense April 18.

He was sentenced to 19 months in a MN correctional facility, but that sentence will be stayed for four years, as long as Davis obeys the conditions of his probation.
