(ABC 6 News) – Construction is currently underway at the Rochester Public Library to replace the roof.
City staff are asking for your patience during this time.
The library was built in 1995, the roof had minor repairs since then.
But now, Noloan Schild with the City of Rochester is saying the roof is well past its useful life.
The cost of this project is around $1.3 million and is being supported by the American Rescue Plan Act.
"Replacing the roof before it gets to the point of leaking and causing damage extends the life of the building here," Schild said.
Schild says the library will be open during construction and services will not be impacted.
It’s expected that the project will be complete in two months.
