DWI arrests drop 31% during extra summer patrols

(ABC 6 NEWS) – Minnesota safety officials shared they did not find as many drunk drivers out on Minnesota roads over the Labor Day holiday.
The Department of Public Safety pushed a Labor Day DWI campaign that ran from Aug. 20 to Sept. 6.
During that time, law enforcement arrested 1,147 that’s compared to 1,649 during the same time last year, a drop of 31%.
There were also 130 move-over citations issued compared with 294 in 2020.
