EMS needs in Minnesota

(ABC 6 News) – EMS personnel in Minnesota needs to operate on a 24-hour schedule, need ambulances staffed, and need to be available for any emergency they’re called to.
But there are challenges with that, especially for smaller, rural areas and the COVID-19 pandemic only worsened matters.
Rural emergency services are not considered essential services. Between that and a lack of volunteers, things have been tough.
ABC 6 News Chief Photojournalist Brian Wise checked in with some area first responders and shares this story.
