Faribault man suffered life-threatening injuries in Highway 14 crash

(ABC 6 News) – A Faribault man suffered life-threatening injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 14 Tuesday..
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on eastbound Highway 14 and County Rd 5 in Byron.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Chevrolet was stopped at the stop light at Hwy 14/ CR 5. A Toyota was stopped behind the Chevrolet. A Ford was stopped in left lane next to the Chevrolet.
A Volkswagen driven by a 55-year-old David Chant, of Faribault, collided with the Toyota which then collided with Chevrolet and Ford.
Chant suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to St.Marys Hospital in Rochester by Mayo One.

2016 Toyota Sequoia driven by 33-year-old Christopher Boswell, of Rochester.
2020 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 61-year-old Kathleen Steinmetz of Tomah, Wisconsin.
2012 Ford Focus driven by a 29-year-old Joseph Carlson of Rochester.
Olmsted and Dodge County Sheriff’s Offices, Minnesota State Patrol, Byron Fire, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and Mayo One all assisted on scene.
Hwy 14 is open again at County Road 5 in Byron. This area was closed due to a crash that occurred earlier. #OlmstedCounty
