Father arrested after locating him and 4-year-old daughter in Olmsted County field

(ABC 6 News) – A call to 911 early Sunday morning leads to a father facing multiple charges of domestic assault, child neglect, and DUI.
Rochester police said that they received a call about 12:30 a.m. from a 15-year-old in the area of Center Street and West Frontage Road.
The teen told police he was being repeatedly punched by his father, Michael Emmers, 37 of Rochester while driving on Highway 52.
When the car stopped at 2nd Street, the teen left the vehicle and called authorities a short time later telling them his father was intoxicated and there was also a 4-year-old girl in the car.
Through technology, authorities were able to locate the car near Byron at which time a State Patrol plane from the cities was called in to utilize thermal imaging to locate the man and 4-year-old.
A short time later they were located in a field about 500 feet from the vehicle in Byron.
The 15-year-old and 4-year-old were both taken to the hospital to be looked at, as the temp was in the 40’s.
37-year-old Michael Emmers was arrested and is facing charges of second-and third-degree DWI, domestic assault, child endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
Multiple agencies responded including Rochester PD, Olmsted Sheriff, Kasson PD, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
