(ABC 6 News) – A former youth paster in Owatonna has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct after police received a report that he had an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile.

Court records state the incidents happened between June and October, 2018. Records say the juvenile was 17 at the time and was also a paid staff member at Northridge Church.

According to the criminal complaint, Sean Masopust, who was a youth pastor at the time, first sent a message that was sexual in nature to the juvenile in June, 2018, when the two were at a youth summer camp in Alexandria.

The complaint states that over the course of a five-month period Masopust sent several pictures and videos that were sexual in nature to the girl. Masopust also reportedly made physical contact with the juvenile on multiple occasions.

Court records state the incidents stopped in October, 2018 after Masopust’s wife reportedly found messages between him and the juvenile on his phone.

Police said the Minnesota Assemblies of God conducted an investigation into the incident, and provided documents of the investigation to law enforcement.

Masopust was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct. His bond has been set at $40,000. Masopust is scheduled to appear back in court later this month.
