(ABC 6 News) — The Med City Freeze had been perfect at Mayo High School leading up to Saturday’s game against the Mountain City Lakers, but that streak ended because the team’s red zone issues continued.

The Lakers scored both of their touchdowns on bad snaps from the Med City offense, which the defense returned for touchdowns.

The Freeze trailed 14-6 at halftime and had several opportunities to tie the game or take the lead, but just couldn’t score when they got the ball within the 20-yd line.

With under 2 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Danny Garcia found wide receiver Malik Davidson for a touchdown, but the play was called back because of offensive holding.

On the next play, Garcia through an interception to seal the Freeze’s 14-6 loss. They are now 2-4 on the season.
