(ABC 6 News) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm gave an update on COVID testing and quarantine standards on Tuesday, stating three more community testing sites across the state have been opened.

Gov. Walz also talked about deploying Minnesota National Guard members in November to help alleviate staffing shortages at long-term care facilities and free-up space in hospitals, along with highlighting the state’s efforts in combating the current surge of COVID cases.

"We knew that this was coming. We knew that there was going to be a staffing issue as COVID started to run. And we started planning on this based on Delta. We are now in Omicron," said Gov. Walz.
