Hearing for Devin Weiland brings witness list into question, other requests considered
(ABC 6 News) – The man accused of a shooting at an Albert Lea apartment in November of 2020 appeared in court Wednesday.
A hearing was held for Devin Weiland where attorneys on both sides filed motions for the judge to consider.
Both sides had filed motions that were considered during the hearing. One motion call into question the witness list the defense had provided. The prosecution also claimed that files the defense had shared with an expert had not also been shared with the prosecution team.
The judge did not rule on either issue but said he would take it under advisement.
A potential upcoming competency hearing was mentioned during the hearing but a date was not set.
Weiland has two upcoming hearings set for February 8 and 9.
