Hormel donates more than 90K pounds of ham to help families in Kentucky, Texas

(ABC 6 News) – Hormel Foods said Wednesday it has donated more than 93,000 pounds of ham to Convoy of Hope to help families in Kentucky and Texas.

Hormel Foods made the donation to help families impacted by the tornadoes that ripped through the state last month. The company also donated over 7,500 hams to be distributed at food shelves throughout Texas.

“We are thankful to have a partner like Convoy of Hope who been has been providing food and support to those affected by the recent tornadoes in Kentucky and parts of the South and Midwest,” said Wendy Watkins, senior vice president and chief communications officer for Hormel Foods.

“As a global branded food company, we are thrilled to donate these hams that can provide over 490,000 meals to those people and families in need."
