Iowa woman arrested after shooting at hotel in Albert Lea

(ABC 6 News) – A Mason City woman has been arrested after police say she fired a gun at a hotel in Albert Lea Friday morning.

Albert Lea Police said a man called just before 9 a.m. saying a woman had fired a bullet into his hotel room door at the Motel 6 and then ran away.

Police were able to find the woman within minutes a short distance from the hotel. The woman was arrested and police found the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.

The woman, 31-year-old Jessica Ann Hutfles will face charges but are currently undetermined due to an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Police said there is no threat to the public.
