(ABC 6 News) – After more than a year of being apart on Sunday, members of the Kasson Fire Department brought the community together for family day.
It was an afternoon of live music, food, and kids even got to try their hand at being a firefighter in the kid’s firefighter obstacle course. It was a chance for the community to come together and a chance for the Fire Department to fundraise money for new equipment.
"Last year was a big, big downer for us due to covid. We had to cancel like a lot of fire departments in our area," said Chief Joe Fitch.
"This is our main fundraiser throughout the year. Our community stepped up in a big way, and we were able to raise just as much money."
On an average year, the Kasson Fire Department fundraises $30,000.
