(ABC 6 News) – The City of Rochester and Olmsted County are requiring that masks be worn in all city and county buildings until further notice.

Olmsted County is currently classified as having a high community transmission rate for COVID-19, defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

That rate is based on multiple factors including the percent of inpatient beds used by COVID-19 patients, the total of new cases and new hospital admissions per 100,000 people in the last seven days.

As of Monday, the CDC is reporting 365 cases of COVID-19, which is a 7.28% positivity rate per 100,000 people. Thirty-seven new people have been admitted to the hospital due to COVID-19 in the county as well.
