Minnesota court panel to release redistricting plan Tuesday
A Minnesota judicial panel will release its redistricting plan Tuesday if state lawmakers don’t meet their deadline.
Under state law, the Minnesota Legislature has to adopt congressional and legislative redistricting plans by Tuesday. If that hasn’t happened, the Minnesota Special Redistricting Panel will release its redistricting plan at noon.
The panel is made up of five judges appointed by Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Lorie Gildea. The panel judges include two from the state court of appeals as well as one each from the third, seventh and tenth judicial districts.
While the panel’s plans will be made available online, those who don’t have access to the internet will be able to view the plans on computer terminals at each courthouse location by Feb. 21.
