(ABC 6 News) – A community mural was unveiled at the Rochester Art Center Thursday.

The newly completed mural was designed by artist June Le, with input from the Rochester community.

The goal of the piece was to show all the different types of people who call Minnesota their home, and introduce viewers to the people of Rochester.

"I just want to put my appreciation on this mural, not just from the art center, not just from the city of Rochester, but it’s for myself, for my appreciation," said artist June Le.

Her mentor, Allegra Lockstadt added, "It was a huge, huge supportive effort from people outside Rochester, and here, and everybody was just very hospitable and welcoming. We feel so appreciative of this opportunity for June and we really hope that Rochester residents and visitors get to enjoy the mural."

It took around two weeks for the mural to be completed, and the Rochester Art Center plans to have it on display for the next 3-5 years.
