None injured in Albert Lea vehicle fire

No one is injured following a vehicle fire in Albert Lea.
According to Albert Lea Fire Rescue, first responders were dispatched near Hy-Vee Food Store on 2708 Bridge Avenue Saturday afternoon. When first responders arrived, they found a 2001 Pontiac Aztek in flames, moving toward the east side of the Hy-Vee.
Fire crews say the business was evacuated as a safety precaution as crews worked to put out the fire.
After crews extinguished the fire, the Hy-Vee was ventilated.
Albert Lea Fire Rescue says their investigation found that the Pontiac’s engine had a mechanical failure that led to the fire.
The vehicle is a total loss.
Albert Lea Fire Rescue says the Hy-Vee sustained minimal damage and reopened before crews left the scene.
Damage estimate is $20,000.
