(ABC 6 News) – This Saturday, the Pauley Alpaca Company in Rochester kicks off its third year of alpaca yoga.
Ten years ago, the Pauley’s passion for alpacas began and continues to grow. The wife and husband first started with these animals for fun and now host open houses along with yoga sessions.
From 9-10 a.m., attendees will experience an instructor-led beginner session as the alpacas roam free. PAC said to bring your yoga mat, towel, or blanket to the pasture.
"There’s one named Eleanor in particular. She’s kind of locally famous among the people that attend the alpaca yoga. She tends to just go in and find someone that she likes, and just sits down next to her – or them for about half an hour. And then just lays there for everyone to take pictures with her," Co-founder Brett Pauley said.
Besides these relaxing sessions, the farm has added some goats, a horse, and ducks to their property.
Following yoga on Saturday, PAC will host an open house for those that attend or separately just want to meet the animals until 2 p.m.
