(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police are on the lookout for an armed robbery suspect from Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded at about 2:12 p.m. June 16 to the Shell gas station at 3610 River Road NE, where a female clerk reported being robbed by a man with a boxcutter.
The suspect approached the register and asked for cigarettes. When the clerk turned around with them, he was holding a box cutter and demanded the money in the register.
An employee at the gas station told ABC 6 News that situations like this are terrifying and that, "money comes and goes, but your life does not."
The suspect is described as a Black man wearing sunglasses and a cap, with a beard. He is about 5’6" to 5’8" and weighs 170-190 lbs.
The suspect left the store and got into a black Ford F150 with tinted windows and chrome trimming, and drove south on E River Road.
Rochester police searched the area, but did not locate the suspect or vehicle Thursday.
