(ABC 6 News) – Rochester city leaders are discussing what to do with money left over from the American rescue plan.
The topic was the focus of Monday’s budget talks.
Mayor Kim Norton says she wants to emphasize the importance of making up for inequities in the communities with those dollars.
She said not everyone was affected the same way and the funding should reflect that.
"We also continue to learn from what we experienced during the pandemic and who it has affected, and how as a city we might want to continue to support those," Rochester Mayor Kim Norton said.
Norton also says she wants to focus on affordable housing in Rochester.
A budget deal has to be approved by September 20th.
