Rochester construction company wins SHARP award

(ABC 6 News) – A local construction company received a first-ever award in Rochester Wednesday.

Knutson Construction received the Minnesota SHARP award for its work on Dakota middle school.

The SHARP award recognizes safety in construction.

"With over 120 people here today, 341 days without a loss time accident. That is a testament to everyone working on this project. You took an idea we had and implemented it and I can’t thank you enough, you should be very proud of this award today," said Tom Leimer, Senior VP/GM Knutson Construction.

Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, the state is not doing its normal program and flag-raising which would include a visit from the governor and some other elected officials.
