(ABC 6 News) — On Saturday, Rochester’s two soccer teams were on different sides of a coin.

Rochester FC stayed at home as they welcomed Minneapolis City SC while Med City FC was in Moorhead facing Dakota Fusion FC.

Starting with RFC, the team found itself in a 1-0 hole early, Luke Dallmann tried to get up close for a goal but was denied. Rochester FC then made a costly mistake as Brandon Lopez bumped an SC player in the penalty box. The ensuing penalty kick was successful as Minneapolis City went up 2-0.

FC’s Midhat Mujic looked like he had a chance but whiffed right as Rochester was eventually blanked 4-0 by Minneapolis City.

Med City FC fared differently against the Fusion, Scott Neil scoring in the 14th Minute to strike first blood for the Mayhem. Med City added to the lead before halftime as Matthew Roberts stole the ball away and scored for a 2-0 lead.

Dakota’s Kazuma Ishizuka found the back of the net in the 82nd Minute, but that was their only score as Med City would prevail 2-1.

The Mayhem will host Minneapolis City SC on May 25th and Rochester FC will play Vlora City in Burnsville on the 28th.
