(ABC 6 News) – Starting Monday, northwest Rochester will have a new donut shop and all the money from the sweet treats will help kids who have battled cancer and are now in need of braces.

The Donut is the creation of Collins Orthodontics and local chef, and former Master Chef contestant Shari Mukherjee, and will sell 17 different flavors or gourmet mini donuts. All proceeds will go to the Adopt-A-Shark program at Collins Orthodontics, a program that started in 2018 and gives free braces to pediatric cancer survivors.

"We started this program and we thought we really need to treat all the families. We have to raise money somehow because there’s just so many and we don’t want to turn any away. So, we thought this could be a really cool concept here… anything we earn here all the proceeds just go straight to the program," said Dr. Grant Collins.

The Donut will be open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You can also make donations to the Adopt-A-Shark program directly.
