RPD: Man damages electronics inside woman’s home, hides from police

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man is accused of going into a woman’s apartment early Monday morning and damaging items inside.

A 31-year-old woman called police and said video cameras inside her home alerted her to someone being inside. She said 29-year-old Casio Gilliam was inside her home on the 1900 block of Spruce Meadows Drive SE and was damaging electronics inside.

Officers arrived and were able to get inside through an unlocked sliding door. Gilliam was found hiding under a bed and was refusing to come out. Gilliam was eventually taken into custody.

Gilliam is facing possible charges of 1st-degree burglary, 3rd-degree damage to property and violation of a domestic abuse no contact order (DANCO).

The woman was not at home at the time but a roommate was. The roommate was not hurt.
