RPS offering free child are for critical workers, families with urgent child care needs in grades K-5
(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Public Schools is once again offering free Child Care for Critical Workers and families with urgent child care needs for RPS students in Grades K-5.
Child care is available during school hours on the following school days: January 18, 19, and 20 AND January 24, 25, 26, 27, 28. Capacity is limited, and pre-registration is required. Once registration is full, families will be added to a waiting list.
Before and after CCfCW, School Age Child Care will be available to participants in the CCfCW program. The fee for this extended-day program is $13/day for morning care 6:30-9:30 AM, and $13/day for afternoon care, 4-6 PM.

CCfCW and the SACC extension are for families who cannot provide care to their children during school hours due to work in health care, education, or other critical fields, or who are without paid leave and can’t work from home.
- Participants must be able to participate safely in the regular child care environment with reasonable accommodation of any special needs.
- Optional transportation is available for the school-day portion only and can be requested at the time of registration.
- School breakfast and lunch will be available to participants.
