Salvation Army offers free tax help

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Salvation Army’s tax assistance appointments begin February 1.
This service is meant to aid low and moderate-income, disabled, and elderly individuals and families in filing their income taxes.
“Appointments can be scheduled between February 1 and April 15th at 5 sites in Olmsted and Dodge Counties.,” said David Oeth, a representative of VITA, “we’re serving people who really need a tax return to pay their rent and keep food on the table. We just don’t want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to make use of this service. Appointments do fill up fast.”
There are still appointments available in the next couple of weeks- Olmsted County residents are encouraged to call 211 (1-800-543-7709) or visit vitataxprep.as.me to make an appointment or with any questions about the tax program.
